1. Who We Are

Activeseekr ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered job search assistant. We operate the website and application available at activeseekr.io. Questions about this policy can be sent to support@activeseekr.io.

2. Data We Collect

• Account data: email address, name, and authentication credentials when you register.
• CV and profile data: the resume content, skills, experience, and preferences you provide.
• Job application data: job descriptions, application statuses, evaluation reports, and generated CVs you create inside the app.
• Usage data: pages visited, features used, token consumption, and interaction timestamps.
• Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe. We never store raw card numbers.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and cookies necessary for session management.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Provide and personalise the Activeseekr service (evaluations, CV generation, pipeline tracking).
• Enforce subscription quotas and process payments via Stripe.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, billing receipts).
• Monitor and improve service reliability and performance.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your CV or job data to train AI models without explicit consent.

4. AI Processing

Activeseekr uses the Anthropic Claude API to process job descriptions and CV content on your behalf. Content sent to the API is subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy. We minimise the data shared with the API to what is necessary for each request.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication sessions (NextAuth). We also use Vercel Analytics, which collects anonymised, aggregate usage data without storing personally identifiable information or setting persistent tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and application data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will erase your personal data within 30 days except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records for 7 years under tax regulations).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EU/UK users: your national DPA).

8. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify you promptly in the event of a breach affecting your data.

9. Children

Activeseekr is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
